In the (almost) 10 years we’ve been together, we’ve experienced a lot. We’ll take you on a quick journey through our story: from our first meeting to the arrival of our first child.
2015
We met each other in the summer of 2015 as colleague ice cream vendors at IJssalon De IJsbeer in Vinkeveen. The spark was lit! On October 30th, in the park in Haarlem, we officially became a couple. ♡
2016
One month together quickly turned into one year. It flew by before we even realized it. We spent a lot of time in Rotterdam, where Arjen lived with friends. We both fell in love with the city and even more in love with each other. 2017
In 2017, we visited Paris together, and Arjen got to know Terschelling better during our anniversary weekend getaway. Already 2 years together! 2018
2018 was the year we became aunt and uncle for the first time! We toured all of Croatia and celebrated our anniversary in Drenthe. It was also the year our search for our own apartment began…
2019
In 2019, we moved in together in our beloved city of Rotterdam. In that little 50m2 apartment, we got to know each other even better. In September, we traveled to Canada with the Samsom family—a trip we’ll never forget! 2020
And then came Covid-19. We were so glad to have each other and to be living together! We got to experience a wedding up close, which made Robyn start feeling the wedding butterflies! Meanwhile, our house-hunting journey kicked into full gear. We celebrated our 5th anniversary with a lovely weekend in Ermelo. 2021
What a special year 2021 was. We bought our own house in Montfoort and turned it into our home. And on New Year’s Eve, we were able to share with the world that we were expecting our first child. Little Otis was on the way. ♡
2022
In 2022, we celebrated 7 years together. We became a true family with the birth of Otis in June. We found a new rhythm and got to know each other from a different side. It was amazing to see each other as parents of a little one! 2023
In 2023, we went on holiday to Italy with our little rascal Otis, a country we both absolutely love. On Otis’ first birthday that year, we had exciting news: in 2024, our family will grow even more! 8 years together, and still with just as much love for each other every day.
2024
At the start of 2024, little Micky was born, and Otis became a big brother. It’s a bit of an adjustment at times, but we’re loving every moment with our boys! During our first holiday as a family of four, to Terschelling, Arjen proposed to Robyn! The date for our wedding was immediately set: it has to be on our 10th anniversary, October 30, 2025!
2025
What 2025 will bring, we don’t know yet. But one thing’s for sure: a big celebration awaits us (and you) on October 30th! We’re incredibly grateful that we get to celebrate this special day with all of you!
